Uzbekistan: Cooperation of policlinics with mahallas contributes to strengthen the citizens’ health

Family polyclinic No 1 of Urgench city, in Khorezm region, serves about 50 thousand residents, providing primary medical care. Under the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, measures are being taken on strengthening the health of the citizens.

In the Year of Dialogue with the People and Human Interests, a lot of works are fulfilled with the population. Managers, without fail, familiarize the residents with the conducted activities. The head doctor, a deputy of the People’s Council of Urgench city, Muborak Abdullayeva also gives information on the performed work. For example, M.Abdullayeva invited the residents of mahallas 25 and 37 and told them about the progress of the reforms, changes in the sphere of health care and fulfilled planned works by the workers of the policlinic.

According to M.Abdullayeva, now the work of medical workers is evaluated by the people. In turn, the residents are also satisfied with the medical services rendered to them.

As a head of a mahalla Khabibulla Sitmetov noted, they are glad every time when doctors and nurses come to take care about their health. Doctors visit homes and, first of all, examine the health of elderly people and children. They carry out a lot of work on the prevention of diseases.

In this, much attention is paid in-depth medical examination of the population – pregnant women, children, elderly and lonely people, disabled people, women of childbearing age.

Over the past nine months of the last year, more than 34 830 people underwent physical examinations. In 15 386 of them, various diseases were identified. 8 295 of them got treatment and improved their health.

In 2016, this family polyclinic was reconstructed. Under the program “Health-3” the building was upgraded with the most modern medical equipment. The staffs’ view on the work has also changed.

According to labour veteran Bibidjan Sabirova, the doctors provide free aid, as well as the staff is very competent and polite. She trusts her health to the physicians of the polyclinic. She is grateful to the state for the created conditions and to the doctors taking care of them.

There are rooms for laboratories, physiotherapy, X-ray, vaccinations and sterilization service in the policlinic.

The general practitioner’s office is divided into three parts. There are separate cabins for working on documents, for viewing adults, children and pregnant women. This gives a patient an opportunity to talk to the doctor in private, telling him about his problems.

According to the head doctor Muborak Abdullayeva, they cooperate with 10 mahallas, and the residents of the mahallas trust their health to them. They are 11 050 children, 14 223 women of childbearing age, 4 194 people of advanced age, 494 people with disabilities.

32 doctors and 101 nurses works in the policlinic and everybody feels a great responsibility for their work.

As the deputy head doctor Khudoyshukur Jabborov noted, in the field of medicine there are a lot of news. Today the modern medicine passes to the electronic queue system, and this experience demonstrate its value in Uzbekistan. For these purposes, in the polyclinic the system of an electronic queue for the admission of a doctor was implemented. The convenience of this system can be talked much about, and the most important of them – saving time for a specialist and patient, increase of work effectiveness, planned organization of activities. This system is very convenient especially for women with a newborn baby, pregnant. The policlinic works on this system, currently in the test mode.

In the near future, in order to increase the potential of the personnel in the primary health care, to create conditions for the specialists trying to improve their skills constantly, to increase the experiences of each doctor of the polyclinic computers are provided with the connection to the Internet. This will create an opportunity for getting acquainted through the electronic library with the latest news of medicine, methods of treatment, studying the experience of foreign colleagues.
