Uzbekistan: New opportunities for the designers and stylists in Urgench

In Urgench city, the Centreof Youth hosted the regional stage of the republican festival“Nafosat-2017”, organized by the Women’s Committee of Khorezm region of Uzbekistan, in order to popularize the profession of designer, to raise the creative level of the representatives of this sphere.

Seventeen designers – creators of modern outerwear from traditional national fabrics, attended the event.There was a fashion show of clothes they sewed for the business-women and schoolgirls, as well as free style.

The festival was opened by the deputy hokim of Khorezm region, the chairman of the regional Women’s Committee S.Abdikarimova, noting that today thanks to the revival of national values, the national Uzbek dresses from the khan-atlas, bekasam and adrasbecome very popular.In its turn, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship are developing dynamically in the region.This is contributed by the conditions created in the country for the organization of outwork, family business and the development of the sphere of services.

Leading and young designers presented their collections of clothes, combining folk traditions and new trends of fashion.Each of them reflects the eastern colour of ornaments and various embroidery technologies, is different in style and richness of jewellery.The fashion showwas held in musical illustration.

DilobarRakhimovafromKhazarasp district of Khorezm noted that, she participates in this contest for the first time.She follows the courses ofstylist-designer in the Centre of Youth of the regional council of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan.The work of the festival participants aroused her great interest and she has much to learn from them.This is a kind of a master class for her.

The members of jury summed up the results of the competition.The jury consisted of heads and representatives of the Women’s Committee of Khorezm region, the regional council of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan, the regional territorial administration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Urgench State University, the Khorezm regional branch of the Association of Business Women of Uzbekistan – “Tadbirkorayol”. The winner of the festival was Lola Bekova from Urgench district.The second prize-winner was ZumradNurmetova from Yangibazardistrict, and the third place was awarded to ZilolaYusupova from Shavat district.They were rewardedwith diplomas and valuable gifts of the organizers.

As Lola Bekova confirmed, she mainly used Uzbek national fabrics – adras and atlas in her presented models of clothes.Every of them is designedforoffice or outdoor use.Both bright and quiet colours were selected.When creating a traditional costume, she studies the history, culture and traditions of not only other regions of the country, but also every district of Khorezm region, as they have differences, as she intends to make every model of clothes adorn women.

The participants of the event received letters of appreciation from the Khorezm Regional Women’s Committee.
